The point is (no one mentioned that expilicitly) not the orange glowing turbo housing but the high reving turbine itself (wrong! exactly the turbo bearings oil flow is cut off), so take care not to rev the engine too high when driving into your garage (the physic. law of mass in motion). If you try to stay below 2000 rpm with little depressed pedal itīs no problem to turn off the engine imediately - of course the turbo bearings will be happy if you let the engine idle some seconds. Increase this time a little (up to 30-40secs) when used full throttle.. One other important thing: in the morning when the engine/turbo is cold drive some blocks carefully before using more than half throttle! Have a look at your TEMP gauge and be sure that the temperature is above the last white mark... Greetings, RCS 1993 900t conv.
