Subject: Saab 9-3 After market audio options?

Hello, I have a 2000 9-3 with the CD player. I was very dissapointed to learn that Saab was too cheap to install the door speakers without having me pay for an audio upgrade. I don't want to pay $500 to get 2 "noname" speakers installed in the doors with a whopping 40 watts per channel. The stock stereo system kinda sucks. The sound in my 93 Mazda 626 blows it away. I picked my wife up a Jeep Grand Cherokee with an Infinity sound system and that really cranks. I'd like to install a new sound system, but what are my options? Can I completely replace all components or only some of them? I was told that the head unit was married to the computer, can this be replaced with an after market cd player? If so, what are the side-effects (loss of steering whell audio controls, loss of cell phone integration, etc.) What about the weird triangular speakers in the hatch area, are these standard speakers? Does anyone have any recommendations on speakers, amps and head units? I want something a little more exotic than a JVC or a Pioneer, like a Bose. Do any audio companies make an after market stereo designed to integrate with a Saab? Thanks for any ideas. -Jason -- Jason Hatch Your-Site Virtual Server Solutions http://www.your-site.com 413-499-6690
