Doug, Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't it depend on whether it was an early production 90 or late production 90. I ask that question based on posts I have seen here and on the www.saabnet.com bulletin board. I believe 90 was the year Saab began phasing in the DI ignition and 2.3L engine. It seems there is always some crossover. My 87 9000S has the access plug on the top rear of the 5 spd. My saabtech friends 87 9000T has the access plug on the top front. His was manufactured a few months after mine.
