The bulbs behind it breaks after some years. To replace them you need to remove the top of the dashboard and then remove the instruments. It takes a professional about 30 minutes to replace them. The other possibility is that you have turned the display off, by holding the R and/or the INFO button down for some seconds. Then the only thing you see is a weak light. /dot
