Most things are relatively easy to do on a Saab (at least compared to other cars). Most shade tree mechanics can change a clutch or replace driveshafts in a weekend or less. As for the mileages you stated, they are not at all "out in left field". Just make sure you do regular oil changes, and you'll find out why so many people have Saabs with 150,000+ miles.
