Snowing?
The keyway locates the sprocket and damper. The tension of the bolt
keeps them in line. Bosch eliminated the key on their alternators
years ago, although the keyway is still there. When's the last time
yours fell off?
Which do you think has more strength? A two pound bolt at 200+ foot
pounds of torque or a 2 gram keyway 3mm thick?
Snowing?
