Generally speaking the TURBO may be more effective at a certain rather high powerlevel. However this is a rarely used 90 mph or so. At lower normal speeds the turbo has somewhat worse mileage because of lower compression . And att really high power . 110 mph or so and up the motor tries too stay cool (well the exhaust is actually a very bright yellow) by using as much extra fuel that is technically harmless to the engine. about 20% extra fuel ( your money). This will mean i real life. If you use as much power as you would without the turbo -10% on the mileage or so compared too the nonturbo with same size. If you get a bit heavyfooted like most people with a turbo you loose an extra 10% on the mileage. At top speed a whopping 137 mph I have heard that you actually get 8 mph out of my SAAB 9000 Turbo. PS I have a rather heavy foot and get around 22 mpg in mixed driving. Matt Anderson wrote: > Does the turbo affect the mileage? Make it better, make it worse?
