I have a 1988 900 that is making a whirring sound from the back by the fuel pump. I have also noticed that the fuel guage fluctuates in turns and up & down hills, and reads about 1/4 tank low in steady, level travel. It seems to be getting fuel fine, but the noise is a concern.
