If you define "highway" driving as getting up to 55 and staying there for hours, then I would agree with you. Your brakes, suspension and transmission should last a lot longer as well. I suppose you could drive like this if you are not near any big cities. I drive 25 miles to work each way. Some days I can run at a steady 55-60 mph and some days I never get out of first gear. This is hard on the cooling system, brakes, clutch, left knee and the gas mileage. That is why I change my oil more frequently. Unfortunately, most people's driving experience is probably closer to mine than yours. Count yourself lucky and enjoy your Saab on those nice long runs!
