Hello, Sounds like a bent shift rod or maybe a gear problem. Your cheapest way is to get a trans from a salavage yard. There is one that I known and have used over the years located in Sacramento, Ca. They are even on the internet; moreover, their prices seem reasonable. Hope this helps. Tim Everett M.
