To some extent it is true that most drivers will never tell the difference between FWD and RWD, and that the traction and weight advantages of FWD will win out for most practical cases. The case where FWD hurts is in 0-60 times on powerful cars ( think of the torque limiting in 1st and 2nd gear on the viggen) and in the mostly irrelevant track tests magazines love to publish. Also, don't forget that saab is a _pioneer_ of FWD. dave
