Subject: Odd problem

I'm posting this for purely informational reasons. I have an 87 900S, which has no visible rust. Last weekend, I heard an odd sound as I opened the hood. As it turns out, two of the welds holding the driver's side hinge to the hood just snapped! While it's simply a matter of welding the pieces back together (the other side broke shortly after that), my question to all of you is: Has this ever happend to anyone else?!?!?!? A friend of mine, who used to do a ton of body work on Saabs, has never seen this happen, not even in one with severe front end damage. Am I just *lucky*? Or was there a bad run of hood welds in the '87 model year? Just curious. Thanks. Paul (Remove "spamthis" to reply)
