Hi all... I've posted a couple of questions about this before. My news server has been playing up lately so I keep missing most of the replies. After examining the following website: http://216.78.173.139/cooling_system_folder/coolingsys.htm (Don't worry if the above link doesn't work, it seems to be hosted on a dodgy server that is down half the time) It seems I need a new 82 degree thermostat and 82 degree fan sensor. The car itself had a full engine recondition back in 1997, and we found that installed in the car is an 82 degree thermostat designed for a 16-valve engine! (part number 8817538). The website states that you can't fit a 8-valve thermostat into an 16-valve engine. It doesn't say anything about a 16V thermostat going into an 8V engine. Is this perfectly fine, or did the people responsible for the engine recondition "stuff up" and install the wrong thermostat? Many thanks, Gareth
