I'm looking into buying a Saab. My first choice would be a 900 Turbo Convertible (stick, obviusly). I've got 10K, maybe 15 to spend. I realize that this puts me in the pre 1994 range for these cars, and after reading the Saab reviews, it seems as though they made some serious changes for their 1994 line. Does anyone have any suggestions/reviews for me? Curious about: - The difference between pre/post 1994 SAABs? - Turbo vs non turbe; i.e. acceleration, mpg, etc. - Transmission quality - I've heard the pre '94 Saab's have some issues. - Safety: Have any of these cars undergone crash tests? Specifically, do they have 4 star ratings from NTSB? And in what year did SAAB start making driver's side airbags? - Buying a used one: What should I look at? I've heard the head gasket for pre-94s have issues, but what else should I look at (specific to Saab) besides the usual used car stuff? thanks, nate oleson nolesonnopsamford.edu
