Subject: Re: 9000 aero fuel

Hi, Concerning the octane ratings on different type of fuel. I have a 9000 cs 2.3 turbo which has had a lot of engine modifications, there is a massive noticable diffenenrc when using 98 octane fuel as the ecu is set up to use this grade of fuel, due to rediculous fuel prices in the uk i fill the car with regular unleaded 95 octane but supplement it with an octane boost, this is cheaper and equally effective, dont use a supplement with a very high methanol component as this will damage your catalytic converter, also i would not recommen using it constantly either. hope this helps advid saab fan.
