Subject: overheating

I overheated yesterday to the point of coolant boiling over, then realizing that the fan was not kicking on. I found that the fuse was burned out, replaced it, started working normally again. Today the fuse burned out again! Does anyone have a suggestion as to what would cause this? A short in the harness somewhere? Could it be that the fan is old and drawing more current than it should? Thanks, Kirk by the way, its a '89 900 turbo convertible
