This mail is basically a plug for the dealer/buyer I bought my car from. If you're interested, read on. I recently (last week) purchased my first Saab, a '97 900 S. The car has 29K on it, and is basically stock + alloys and the 6-CD changer. It's a 5-speed. I was talking with someone else on this list about the service I used to buy the car, and he suggested that I post the information here. I bought the car through a guy in Salem, MA, named Lloyd Wilson. He does business as "the Car Guy". In a nutshell, you tell Lloyd what you want (used cars only, I think), and he finds it for you. Lloyd has experience as a mechanic and as a used car dealer (i.e., with a lot), and appears to be knowledgeable about what to look for and what to avoid. He will fix or replace any normal wear items on the car (brakes, tires, etc) as needed before delivering it to you. My car came to me in excellent mechanical shape and thoroughly detailed. The price of the car to me (including Lloyd's fee) was $15,200, which is $1K or $2K less than the best price I could find for a similar car. If you're in the Boston area, I heartily recommend him. His number is (978) 741-3611. Tell him Russell Lane sent you. Cheers -
