Subject: 900-wild turn signals with lights on

My 1986 Saab 900 has a problem with the rear turn signals. Seems to work good in daytime, but at night with lights on, hit the brake and the turn signals go wacky. Both the left and right side light holders do a bunch of crazy flashing from most of the bulbs at the same time, it does not matter if it is left turn or right turn, both back sides will still come on. With the lights on, the brake on, and a turn signal on, I found 12 volts and some strange voltage of around five volts at some of the back bulbs. At the same time the fronts turn signals simply go to constant on with the brake appied and lights on.
