Opinions? >-- >Andrew Stephenson > I recently took the plunge and stumped up hard-earned cash for a new 9-3 from a UK dealer. I'd held off for a year or so, but the list price had fallen by over £2k in that time, and a reasonable deal was on offer. Time will tell if I've made a mistake! You also may wish to take into account that, if new cars do come down in price, the trade-in value of any current car will fall too. What worries me in particular is the possibility of a sudden "mad rush" for the showrooms, flooding already over-crowded used stocks with even more cars and a consequent price crash far out-weighing any saving on the new car. WRT Euro-imports - also bear in mind that whether or not you personally worry about insurance problems, warranty problems and originality - plenty of other people out there will worry. This means that when the time comes to trade-in a Euro-import a few years down the line, you'll almost certainly get a lower price, possible very much lower. -- bill
