NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is NOT NOT a good idea! Turning the cassete over and running it (while it is lying on its "back") can damage (destroy) the DI unit. The reason for this is that there are coils covered in oil in the unit. This oil cools the coils and also acts as an isolator (to prevent the electricity to jump to the wrong place, sorry about the bad explanation in english). When you run it up side down, the is a risk that this oil isnt where it should be (working as an isolator) and you MAY destroy the unit (due to bad isolation). If you have to do this, make sue you hold the unit with the sparks facing down!! If you know you have sparks (which in most cases, you have), but still suspect you have a DI unit problem do this: Drive around for a while to make sure engine, oil (and DI unit) reaches operating temperatures. Using a 4th or 5th gear do a series of fullpower accelerations. If there is a problem with the unit you will most probably feel some heavy missfiring etc. The only way (in my opinion) to really verify that a DI unit is broken, is to switch to a unit that really is working (or just put your own unit in another car...). Before you start working on your DI unit, make sure you have checked you sparkplugs. Use whatever saab recommends and carefully adjust gap to 1.1mm. This is important, especially on DI Trionic cars.
