Hi, Sucking out air/fluid via the bleed screw will probably not work, if you have air in the system (which you're certain to have after refitting the clutch line - that's what you're trying to get out . . .). Bleeding by pumping pedal / loosening bleed screw gives mixed results (some get it to work, some don't). The method that Saab recommend is to compress the system from the top (brake fluid resevoir), which will drive air and old fluid out through the bleed screw. There are such one-man bleed kits available (a spare tyre provides the necessary air pressure), but you can fashion one yourself if you can't find the real thing. Get an old brake fluid resevoir cap, drill a small hole and attach a rubber hose to it. A tyre valve (with the centre removed) may be a good fitting for this. Attach about 1.5m rubber hose (about the thickness of fuel line hose), and on the end of that, a fitting so that a car tyre can supply the necessary pressure. Voilą. A one-man bleed kit. Use a bit of grease if some of the joins on your kit leak air. Remember to top up the resevoir with fluid every once in a while before the level gets too low. I believe that there are no adjustment points on the clutch - since it's supposed to be self-adjusting. There's a good chance that your master cylinder's OK, since everything you mention seems to point more to your bleed technique rather than any component failure. If the master cyl worked well before your hose fell off, there's an excellent chance that it will continue to be fine. I should also mention that my reference point is the classic Saab 900, but I'm pretty sure that what I say will apply to the 9000 as well. Tell us how it goes.
