There is a place for these laws. >This is clearly not one of them. > >Todd Buttrick This is just another of a long string of similar replies, mostly by email, all abusing me for pointing out that Saab is telling lies. Brand loyalty is one thing, fanaticism is another. Saab says in it's handbook the safety belt alarm works on the front passenger seat. It doesn't. They lie. They wont fix it. All I ask is that they tell the truth and correct the error. They won't. Sheesh! Of course it's my responsibility to check that the belts are done up - but am I not entitled to use the alarm that the handbook says is provided to assist me? Unless Saab correct the handbook, other drivers will incorrectly assumes the passenger belt is done up because the alarm light is off. If the passenger is then injured in an accident and sues, I think Saab will need very good lawyers to escape liability. So, Todd, if you really believe it is OK for Saab to continue misrepresenting their capabilities and risk injury to passengers by refusing to correct their error, then I think you are "pathetic" too. -- Regards, Peter Wilkins (wilkinspnopsamnet.au)
