Subject: Re: 9-3 Stainless exhaust system

I have been in contact with Rolf Uhr from Nortic. He states that Nortic just successfully completed an emissions qualification for his 280HP Viggen upgrade which includes a 3" downpipe, high flow cat and 2 1/2" cat/back Ferrita system. It is not clear if Sweden's emissions requirements are equal to or stricter than US requirements. From experience Sweden seems to be much more "green" than the US. There are so many tuners in Sweden I can't tell from the US which one has the best reputation within the country. Rolf stated that to date he has tuned 43% of all Viggens in Sweden. That is just amazing. Is Nortic well known in Sweden? I was reading an article in an Australian speed magazine and the author presented a table of engine Kw versus diameter. For 165KW the table suggests 3" for 100% of the system. Your comment "behind the cat is not important" implies that the exhaust gasses loose temperature in the cat, thus smaller pipes are sufficient. Did I get this correct? In article <396E15EC.74E2F6ACnopsamnt.ser>, af_RGnopsamnt.ser says... > If you are looking for performance, make sure you get at 3" downpipe and a > high flow cat. What you use behind the cat is not important. > > Nordics systems are made by www.ferrita.com, probably amongst the best > quality you can get. Dont know anything about the other ones. > > /Mathias >
