Subject: Re: getting the friken blower motor out!! Help!

Recently did my 88 9000, and it is definitely a bitch to do. DO THE HEATER CORE AT THE SAME TIME, AS IT ONLY CAN COME OUT AT THE SAME TIME!!!! The key to removal of the blower motor is unbolting the top motor(engine) mount, and pulling the engine forward a couple of inches. I did it with a strap and a 2x4 while wedging another 2x4 in between to hold it out while removing the assembly. Make sure to remove all of the plasic clips that hold the blower in place to the heater core housing. I did the whole thing without a book, but everyone (including the saab mechanics ) agree that the engine must be shifted forward. Replace the motor and core with new, its too much of a hard job to use parts that will go out prematurely. Use mercedes anti-freeze, as it will not erode the new heater core!!! GOOD LUCK! wwanopsamnet.com if you need help! there are websites out there that walk you through it..
