Does using the key alone in the door to lock the car activate the alarm? I have a 99 9-5 and a 96 900, and if you don't use the remote on the 900, the alarm doesn't work. Using the key alone just locks the doors. I assumed this was true also with the 9-5, but I guess I might have been wrong. The other reason I don't use the key alone with my 9-5 is another habit I learned from my 900SE. If you lock the car/set the alarm with the remote, and then unlock the car with the key, the alarm goes off when you open the door. Not cool! Has Saab fixed this in newer cars? Ken
