Subject: Re: 9000 struts

I just replaced the struts and shocks on my 87 9000S. If your's are the same or similar, you will have two 19mm bolts on the lower part of the strut and three 17mm at the top holding the strut in place. Just make sure you slide the brake line out of the slot on the back side of yours and your ABS connection. I had the use of an air wrench and a wonderful spring compressor. I had to use a 21mm socket for the nut on top of the strut. By the way, I got my Boge/Sachs from the Sobstory.com. The struts were $89 each and the shocks $79 each. The ride is back to stock. The originals had over 192,200 on them. The rear shocks are more difficult than the struts. If you can find a Haynes 9000 manual, it can give you some insight.
