Subject: Drivability problem

Group, 1989 900 16V 5 sp. will not 'rev up'. will start reluctantly and will idle ok, but when off idle, there is no power. really need to baby it to gert up to reasonable speed (35mph). In neutral and flipping open the throttle, it is as if there is a lag before it will rev up. I pulled the codes and get 12111 and 12112. According to The tech docs at Townsend, it is vacuum leak, an o2 sensor preheater, ELCD system (what is this?), or fuel pressure. I have checked for vacuum leak, and I can find nothing (with carb cleaner). It ran fine to work, but exhibited this problem after work, and is still exhibiting it. I don't expect ant mechanical problem (timing or cam timing) as there was no problem on the way to work, and it was not hit, bumped or driven hard. I heard no pops or noises (out of the ordinary). I am on my way to the parts house to get an o2 sensor. Is this what generally happens when one goes bad? With previous cars, it was poor drivability (minor irritation) when one went bad. This thing is undrivable. Comments? Keith Grider
