Subject: Help with Electric problem

Car mechanic and myself are struggling with this one and it's really intriguing; the mechanic has not seen it in action yet!. Car 1991 SAAB 900S. For some time now especially when the weather is humid, and the car's been parked for a while, all of a sudden ALL the lights would come on (I mean all except the rear backup lights!!); if I don't catch it soon after it happens I get a dead battery in the AM. Recently, the frequency of this madness increased to almost every night!. The only way you can turn the lights off is to: First, turn the ignition key to the on position (don't need to crank the engine); Second, turn the head light switch to on then off. If you just do the second without the first it wont work!!!!. I checked most of the obvious grounding points and they're O.K., all the light bulbs appear to be working fine. Also, If the light switch was the problem, then why do I need to turn the ignition key to on?. Any Ideas? Cheers, -- Remove "NOSPAM" from address for direct e-mail ####### # #### # # # # # # # ## # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # ## # # #### # # #
