I have an 87 9000S 5 spd. Check your vaccum hoses to make sure you have no leaks. When was the last time you changed your air and fuel filter? It may be time to clean your throttle body and throttle plate. Recommend Berryman B-12 Carb and Choke cleaner, and a can of the Berryman B-12 Gas Treatment in your fuel tank. It will remove moisture and clean your system. As for your auto trans, when was the last time you changed the transmission fluid and the filter. It should be done every 30,000 miles or two years, which ever comes first. My 87 9000S had 194,243. I am about ready to replace my AIC valve. I just did my struts and shocks about a month ago. I went with the Boge/Sachs, and they are really good. Mine has its original ride back.
