Its much the same over here in the UK where we have some of the highest car (and petrol) prices in Europe - viz the thriving import trade where UK nationals can save a small fortune over UK dealer prices by importing UK spec cars from Holland and Belgium. I always think of Saab's main rivals as Audi , BMW , Volvo , some of the smaller Mercs and Alfa-Romeo. The Passat is an overlooked car IMO.
