Subject: Re: Poor gas mileage in 9-5

I have an -98 9-5 2,3 T Auto Total average since I bought it is 0,95 l/10km (that is about 25 mpg) Lowest so far is 0,67 l/10 km (35 mpg), using the cruise control, no overtaking, following the speed limit (55 mp/h), 3 passangers with luggage, rather hilly roads. Highest so far is 1,18 l/10 km (20 mpg), city driving, lots of traffic lights, winter conditions with snowtyres. So I think that your average is excellent, keeping in mind that the car weighs around 1600 kg (over 700 pounds). I have calculated the above with 1 gallon = 3,79 liters, dont know if that is US or english gallons. My conversion program states "conversion from english to metric" so it should be english, but I am not sure. /Mats >On a UK gallon, I get an indicated 30 to 34 mpg from my '99 2.3T 9-5. I would blame the transmission. > >Clive
