Subject: 2nd hand Saab advice

I'm in the market for a second-hand car, and my choice has been narrowed down to a early-90's Saab 9000. There are two locally available cars I'm particularly interested in: The first is a 1992 9000 Griffin with 123000 miles. Thew dealership is asking $8700 for this car, and they say it's in reasonable condition, and has some records with it. It's been previously owned by one of the dealership's directors though. This has all the griffin standards: automatic gearbox, green paint (which doesn't please my wife) leather with suede inserts etc. The second is a 1994 9000 CS with 80,000 miles. It has a complete service history (apparently) and has had only one owner with all servicing done at a major Saab dealer in Bellevue. The exterior is gold, and they're asking for $10995. According to the dealer, the car is in excellent condition inside and out. This car also has an automatic transmission. My question is, which would be best to get. I understand that the '92 Griffins are reasonably rare, but does this actually add anything to the car's value if I came to reselling it in a few years time? Also, are there any pitfalls waiting for me for either car make/year/model? I'm new to Saabs (I've previously been looking at MB's BMW's and Jags of similar vintages) so I'm a litle unsure of there mechanics. Any help is appreciated. -- Steven Harrison Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
