You don't need the U-shaped tools from a dealer. I just cut the tops of metal coat hangers and bent them to fit the two holes on each side of the radio. Just push them in as far as they go ( it requires some muscle). And then use two thin screwdrivers to pry out the loosened radio. That will just remove the radio. The antennae connection is on the back of the "cage" that the radio fits into. To remove that cage...just take screwdrivers to straighten the tabs that hold it to the slot opening. Then pry the thing out...you will see a bunch of colored wires hooked into the back of the cage. You will also see where the Antennae connects. I too had poor reception with my standard Saab radio. However, upgrading to a Blaupunkt stereo has gotten rid of that problem. Hope that works. -T.Ghosh 91 9000s 143k Yaofeng wrote in message <8npd8j$7bu$1nopsam1.deja.com>... >In article <st10qsss5240qv7l5gv1dqggcqq2h5krcenopsamcom>, > Brian Watson <brian.wnopsamm.net> wrote: >> I have a 1995 9000 with a standard SAAB radio which I need to remove >> to investigate poor LW reception. >> >> The Saab agent tells me to just stick a couple of screwdrivers or >> similar into the two holes in the top of the facia and the unit will >> come out.
