Subject: Clunk from front end when reversing

I have a 1987 Saab 900 Turbo 16S Everything seems to be normal travelling forward, no audible clunks whilst accellerating or decellerating, however when I stop and reverse as soon as I touch the brakes there is a loud clunk that can be felt through the steering, I have checked the callipers, ball joints, track rod ends, shockers in fact everything at the front end, Does anyone have any ideas please John Price Rutland UK
