Here in the UK (for those who are not) we have had fuel shortages due to protests over high fuel costs. Consequently many of us have been trying to preserve what little fuel we have until supplies return I have a 93 2.2 Diesel which averaged on VERY gentle driving over a distance of 120 miles of mainly motorway / trunk roads 76.5MPG! The peak MPG was 78.1 MPG after about 100 miles but then it dropped slightly due to roundabouts and traffic signals. The average speed was 42 MPH but that being 3MPH HIGHER than when I have been stuck in traffic jams!
