At 110 000 miles I would hope that I wouldn't need to have my rings done. The car uses no oil, so I doubt any is slipping into the combustion chambers, but maybe I'm wrong. Carbon build-up is supposedly normal for this engine because of the way it's slanted, or so a mechanic told me. I'm going with Mr. Washington's original prescription of some Berryman products; if that doesn't work after a couple of weeks I'm going to take the audacious step of removing the cylinder head and cleaning out the combustion chambers manually.
