The pump was not low enough (9.29 inches from top rubber to strainer) in the tank & the opening slit for the inlet to the pump needs to be 45 degrees to the right of the exact rear ( 23 minutes after on a clockface) in order for it to work correctly. works like a charm! It's a good thing I have the Saab Servive Manual set. Check it out, there are 10 separate manuals.... numbers 0 - 9 !!! - Orbitronik Ask The MasterTech wrote: > You do not have the pump located far enough down in the tank and it is > probably turned the wrong direction.TW <kimo_saabynopsameja.com> wrote in message > news:39C1B70C.D1D37378nopsamoldt1.com... > > The fuel pump on my 1983 900 Turbo finally cashed it in after 341,000, > > so I tossed in a used pump that works like a charm... > > EXCEPT: when I turn left with the car in gear it acts like it's going to > > die. > > If I do it real slow or just gliding around a corner..... no problem! > > But if I'm giving it gas, it acts like it's gonna konk.... all jerky. > > > > No problem on right turns.
