Subject: Re: Saab 900 vs 9-3?

I have had a good experience with my 98 900 SE turbo. No mechanical problems, and great driving fun. In the couple of days that I had with a 9-3SE loaner, I noticed that the main difference is the retooled suspension. It generally has a more compliant feeling, with more front wheel suspension travel. Both cars are great in spirited driving, but the 9-3SE tends to transmit less of the road bumps to your hindquarters. Basically, despite the 1,000 or so claimed changes, the differences between the 900 and 9-3 are, to me, evolutionary rather than revolutionary. This is not bad thing at all, as I am a great fan of the 900's. It is just that after driving a 9-3, I didn't go back to the dealer with thoughts of upgrading just yet.
