Had same problem...but it wasn't the AC-pump!!! There is a small air-pump beneath the dash that suck ait from a small hole in the dash to temperature-sensor. When bearings get dry it will start to sound like crickets. I cured it by opening top of the dash and dropping little oil on the bearing.
