The is a rule of thumb in the used engine industry that Japanese engines outlast american engines by 60%, and that European engines outlast Japanese engines by another 40%. Strictly looking at longevity and quality the european auto will always take the cake. If we take the car down to base material...every piece of metal...leather...plastic..etc will be of exceptionally higher quality in the european auto.
