They stopped laughing very quickly. I haven't driven an IS300, but can see that its styling, which tries a bit too hard to be edgy, might not stand the test of time as well as a 9-3. In terms of handling, the IS300 is naturally going to have the edge with its rear-wheel drive. But if you are going to be driving the car in the snow and in bad weather, the appeal of a 9-3's FWD will soon become apparent.
