Thanks for the feedback. At this point, I am fairly convinced that the car I want is a 1986 or 1987 900S (16V), 4 or 5 door (I've got kids), with a manual 5 speed. There is an 1987 Saab S with 168,000 miles and tranny problems on Ebay. I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump in just yet, but it sure does look interesting. I've never rebuilt a tranny before, but there is a first for everything.
