Subject: Re: 2001 9-3 cup holder

I have a '99 9-5 wagon....great car overall, but the Saab cupholders are the most pathetic I've ever seen! I got a *nasty* burn when the lid popped off a cup of coffee while trying to lift it out of the holder (while parked, I might add). Seems you can't fit a cup with a cardboard 'heat jacket' into the cup holder. The cupholder and the lack of reasonable 'holder' areas in the front seats are part of Saab's arrogance, IMHO. Who the hell are they to say what is reasonable to carry in a car? Not having a place for sunglasses, the garage door opener, coffe cups, etc. etc. poses a greater danger since they items 'wander' around the cabin when you make sharp turns. If Saab doesn't improve their cupholder and other storage issues by the time I'm ready to trade this in, my 1st Saab will likely be my last Saab.
