Subject: Cruise Control

92 900. Odd man out cruise control unit. From what I can tell, it is only common to 92-93. My control unit is dead. From calling around, these seem to be frail units prone to failure. Is this true? If so, is it better to retrofit a more robust unit off of another car or get a used one from a junkyard? I am capable of retrofitting a VDO or other unit which uses a vacuum pump to drive the servo. I want to retain the stalk and speed sensor signal so that the car looks stock. It would be nice if I could make 'tip' actually work to reduce the set speed (like it should!) Is there anybody out there with a dead cruise on a 92-93? If so, maybe we can work something out to retrofit an older unit or a different unit. Let me know if there is a need for this.
