How soon after the "new plugs" did the trouble start? Is the DI unit the original? Even if the DI unit was replaced how old is it? Did you replace plugs with the proper NGK's? With the 1st '91 9000 I experienced occasional worsening of performance and stumbling until the car would eventually not run - DI the culprit. The chain of events started soon after I replaced the spark plugs. In the 2nd 91 9000 I found oil leakage from the coils when I removed the DI cassette to change plugs. I decided to change it before I had problems.
