Subject: 1998 900 Antenna Mast HELP!!!
Hi group,
I've read most of the FAQ's on replacing an antenna mast but I have only one
question. How do I get the bottom extension of the mast to retract into the
motor?
Here's the story:
I got the old broken mast out without a hitch. None of the cable broke off
into the motor as I measured it against the new mast. When I feed the cable
into the motor, it retracts all of the antenna except for the bottom
extension of the mast which refuses to retract fully into the mechanism.
The sleeve will go into the motor, but only so far and there is about 2-3
inches from the threads to the 17mm nut. This prevents me from securing the
mast to the body.
What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be excellent.
Thanks,
Brian
