Subject: Replacing Dash instrument lights??

I thought I saw the answer to this question somewhere but I can't find it now. I have a 1990 Saab Turbo. The tachometer dash light (or at the instrument lights on the left side) does not work. At night you can't see the tach, the clock and even the speedometer is very dark although there is one dim light working. how do I replace these lights. I recall reading that you remove the left speaker and you can access these lights. I tried that yesterday and the two screws that are in the speaker dash housing removed easily but the speaker housing only lifts on that side and it appears that the speaker housing is still connected (toward the windshield). How do you remove this (if indeed this is how you get to the instrument lights)? thanks juan bristol, RI
