Subject: Re: Need help - 4Dr spoiler installation

Hi, I JUST finished this SAME exact install on my 91 9000s this afternoon. I got the spoiler for 30 bucks at the junk yard. Here's how i did it: -traced shape and holes onto a big piece of cardboard. Then lined it up visually...made marks where the drilling would be. I messed up on two of the holes...but redrilling and silicon sealant took care of the empty holes -get ALOT of silicone sealant. Before you bolt the spoiler in...put sealant around the holes so it will put a tight seal around the screw, blocking out any water. Also, I put some Teflon tape around the screw tread. then you can either use double sided tape or silicone sealant to make sure everything fits tight on the trunk deck. the bolting was the hardest part. Take off that board on the back side of the hatch door...came out with 5 or 6 push screws. The trunk handle has two torx screws which hold that board in place. Find the screws...and bolt on. I was not able to bolt on the two end screws...it was impossible to get to them (I'm sure the silicone bond will hold it in place) The hardest part is aligning all the holes up to drill. The cardboard cut out method was not greatly accurate. another method is to find the center of the trunk (the lockhole is a good measurement) then measure away in both directions, marking off each space between the bolts. Overall, the install on my spoiler came out quite well. The placement was dead center...however, one small corner refuses to stick, I'll have to figure out something for that. Good Luck. -T.Ghosh 91 9k S 5-speed 144k miles Matt Wilson wrote in message <0kmS5.1152$lt6.136450nopsam2.sbc.net>... >I scored a spoiler for my '84 4 Door from a junkyard this weekend.
