There are 2 problems. One is that the hole where the pin goes in the clutch pedal is probably worn and is no longer round but oval. Check this to see if there is play in the pedal itself before it engages the master cylinder. If this is the case, you need to either replace the pedal or weld the hole shut and redrill it. The second problem is the hydraulic system, maybe the master cylinder. This needs to be looked at as well and repaired as necessary. Don't delay, because you can chip the reverse gear and the chip will circulate and eventually ruin the other gears requiring a transmission rebuild which is what happened to me. It seems from what you say that the clutch itself is OK. Charles. I've also noticed that when it's in reverse, even with the >clutch fully depressed, it wants to back up a little. Like the clutch >isn't fully disengaged.
