My '86 900 8v (120k miles) transmission is getting hard to put in gear. There's no pressure against the clutch pedal until it's about halfway to the floor. It's balky when trying to put it in first gear, and usually clunks into reverse. I've also noticed that when it's in reverse, even with the clutch fully depressed, it wants to back up a little. Like the clutch isn't fully disengaged. Looking at the clutch pedal mechanism under the dash, I notice there's some play in the connector pin. It looks like the gap there is causing the pedal play problem. My question is this: Are the signs indicating I need a new clutch? Or is the problem likely in the worn clutch pedal arms? Thanks for any advice. ____________________________________________________________________ Greg Youngen youngennopsam.edu
